Ready for Battle in the New Forest

Briefing for Battle!

This Bank Holiday weekend saw my son with an invitation to a pal’s 8th birthday party.  He couldn’t wait.  The excitement once he saw the invitation was evident.  He was going in to battle!

As a boy growing up, if I wasn’t kicking or throwing a ball then my time was spent with all the other (mainly boys) that lived in ‘my road’ out in the New Forest, choosing sides and going in to battle.  Real boys being boys stuff, climbing trees, building dens, hiding, running, shouting, playing, being creative, having fun.

For a while my parents worked hard to ban guns from the house but in the end gave up.  We just made our own.  From lego, from sticks, from whatever we could lay our hands on.  Playing ‘army’ was what we did.  We loved it.

Fast forward to 2012.  The rules of the game are the same.  Two sides.  Countless missions.  Trees, dens, hides, running, shouting, playing, being creative, having fun.   The difference is the equipment, the organisation, the setting and for sure the weapons!  For that we have to thank the simply brilliant Battlefield Live New Forest

Camouflage facepaint, great games, brilliant organisation and a fantastic setting.  The certainly know how to run a birthday party.  The look of excitement on the boys faces as they kitted up in full fatigues, blackened faces and were briefed extensively on handling the awesome digital guns and the missions ahead will stay with me for a very long time.  It’s safe, it’s exciting, it’s the perfect way to ensure a truly memorable birthday.

I am not sure who was more excited, the boys or the Dads!  Suffice to say the adults don’t have to lose out, with Battlefield Live New Forest also catering for Stag and Hen Parties and Corporate Team Building Events as well as Adult Batttles.  If you love competition, getting dirty, having fun and letting of steam in the great outdoors then you need look no than Battlefield Live.  It really is a great day out for all the family.

As we were leaving, my son told me that it was the best party he’d ever been to.  Every single one of his friends were all excitedly pleading with parents to book their birthday at Battlefield Live.  Parents were busy taking cards to book events.

I felt compelled to blog about such a well organised, great day out.  Don’t take my word for it, check it out for yourself – click on the photo below for a direct link the Battlefield Live New Forest web site.
