25,000 people go cuckoo in the New Forest!

Bank Holiday weekend is nearly upon us and for the 33rd year in a row, 25.000 people in the New Forest will go cuckoo!

Downton is a picturesque village on the northern edge of the New Forest and home of the annual Downton Cuckoo Fair.    In 2011, more than 25,000 visitors enjoyed more than 250 stalls, craft demonstrations, a Farmers Market, street entertainers. live music, dancing and all sorts of quintessentially English Bank Holiday merriment!

What’s more it’s free!  There is ample parking and a Park and Ride service should you need it.  It’s great fun for all the family and a great way to spend some time on a Bank Holiday weekend.

It’s just the kind of family day out that the New Forest Pocket Guide loves and is just one of a number of features that we shall be adding to our events section in our first update to the APP.

We shall be there with our camera so expect to see photo’s and video uploaded to our FaceBook Page – New Forest Pocket Guide on Facebook (why not upload yours?).
